36 critical violations in this week's Restaurant Report. We start at a popular Grove Avenue eatery that's made the critical list before. On December 13th, an inspector gave Philips Continental Lounge on Grove 7 critical violations. Among the problems, foods held at improper temperaturesand other items in the refrigerator found without disposal dates. Two 6th Street Marketplace restaurants also make tonight's critical list. The first, Mediterranean Grille with 5 critical violations. On December 12th, an inspector found fresh bread stored on raw chicken and insect activity throughout the facility. Also at the city food court, Da Vinci's with 7 critical, among them, single-use gloves saved for re-use and rodent droppings found on the floor around equipment December 12th. Moving on inRichmond, Ellwood Thompson's in Carytown with 6 critical violations. On December 14th, equipment and food contact surfaces were found soiled to sight and touch. In Henrico, Bailey's Smokehouse and Tavern on West Broad received 7 critical. On December 11th, an inspector reported that the person in charge had no current ServSafe certification or demonstration of food safety knowledge. And finally tonight, Imperial Chinese Restaurant on North Washington Street in Ashland with 4 critical, including a stainless steel bowl found soiled with dried egg debris December 10th.
Now for the good news. This week's hall of fame award goes to DD-33 Asian Bistro on Cox Road in Henrico for a perfect inspection December 12th!
